CEHA Celebrates 15 Years

Catholic Employer Health Alliance (CEHA) proudly celebrates its fifteenth year of uniting Catholic employers in the spirit of solidarity, working together to provide optimal healthcare plans and long-term rate stability for the whole group.

In 2011, Father Larry Snyder (then President and CEO of Catholic Charities USA) and Monsignor Michael Boland (then President and CEO of Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago) saw the uncertainties surrounding the Affordable Care Act, the rapid changes in state laws on health insurance, and skyrocketing health care costs and decided a different approach was needed for Catholic employers. They turned to outside counsel Keith Styles (CEHA’s current President, then a partner in ArentFox Schiff LLP) and together the three developed the concept that became CEHA. At the heart of CEHA’s founding was a simple yet powerful belief: those who labor in our communities for the common good deserve to be able to focus on their Catholic employer’s mission while having access to the human right of quality healthcare at an affordable price.

Fifteen years later, that vision continues to guide CEHA’s work. By bringing Catholic employers together, CEHA delivers lower premium increases, greater flexibility, streamlined administration, and personalized support for an employer’s HR team to administer employee health benefits. Most importantly, CEHA remains a trusted partner to Catholic employers for whom caring for their people is a vital expression of their mission. CEHA and its participating employers truly are Together in Faith, United in Care.
