Changes Coming Soon to your Medical Plan

CareFirst Administrators recently advised us of 2 deadlines upon us: July 24, 2020 and September 30th, 2020. Please take note of how these deadlines may impact you.
7/24/2020:
At the start of the national public health emergency, we advised effective retroactively for dates of service on and after February 4, 2020 and for the duration of the public health crisis, copays, coinsurance, and deductibles will be waived for Telephone Calls/Electronic visits with providers (for clinical staff of primary care, general practice, internal medicine, pediatrics, OBGYN and associated nurse practitioners). On 7/24/2020 this will revert back to the plan document rules. Beginning 7/24/2020, our plan will continue to allow for telephone and electronic visits to continue to occur with non-MDLIVE providers (for the provider types listed above), but the copay (or ded/coinsurance for Bronze plan) will apply starting on that date.
12/31/2020:
Testing and treatment for COVID-19 is currently covered at a $0 cost share for participants. All special processing for COVID-19 related claims as well as telemedicine/virtual claims under the medical plan has been extended through 12/31/2020. This includes:

- Covid-19 related Office Visits – Covered with No Member Cost Share
- Covid-19 related Testing – Covered with No Member Cost Share
- Covid-19 related Treatment – Covered with No Member Cost Share
