In Caremark’s ongoing effort to assist our Plan in maximizing our health care investment while offering your plan members clinically appropriate prescription therapy, Caremark announced changes to the Standard Formulary effective October 1st, 2020. A copy of the Performance Drug List can be found here. ***Please note, although Contraceptives are listed on the formulary, our plan does not cover these drugs.***
The formulary review process focused on many factors, including:
- Adding products that have demonstrated enhanced clinical efficacy and/or provide more convenient dosage forms, AND/OR
- Removing products that may have less convenient dosage forms, may have more side effects or may cost more when compared to available options on the CVS Caremark® Drug List. The 10/1/2020 Formulary Drug Removals List can be found here.
Member Notification Process:
As always, notifications are sent to members via USPS who are affected by tier changes or drug exclusions. Please encourage your members to use the CVS Caremark website, Caremark.com, to view the most current version of the drug list, as well as to review their prescription drug benefit information, request mail service orders and research drug information.
